![]() I felt the characters seemed a bit off, and the plot kind of mundane. Thea:I have to echo what Ana says–I had started this book a whiles back, and couldn’t get into Sookie or her vampire bf Bill at all. Which is something unique in itself, as that never happens to me: I am usually a I-love- the- hero type of girl – no matter the genre – but Sookie is too adorable for words and coupled with the quirkiness of the story itself, makes for a very interesting beginning of a new series to me. So much so that I am completely head over in heels in love with her. ![]() ![]() All those traits could have gone wrong but Sookie as a character, turns out to be a refreshing change from what’s out there, from what I am used to. A few chapters in and then it hit me that she is UNIQUE: a 25 year old who just doesn’t sound or behaves like one – she sounds way too naive at points, loopy and innocent (in many ways) and also very much vulnerable. ![]()
